ATC GLOBAL 2009 VISITORS TO BE INFORMED ABOUT ICAO EUROPEAN AND NORTH ATLANTIC ACTIVITIES THROUGH DISTRIBUTION OF NEW REGIONAL REPORT

Paris (France), 10 March 2009 – The ICAO European and North Atlantic Office (EUR/NAT) will distribute copies of its Regional Report at the ATC Global 2009, an international event for the ATM-ATC community which will take place in Amsterdam from 17 to 19 March.

The Report explains the unique challenges faced by the ICAO EUR/NAT Office and the leadership the Organization provides to stakeholders in improving aviation safety and efficiency and in meeting increased political demands in the world’s most travelled airspace.

The European and North Atlantic (EUR/NAT) Office -the biggest and oldest among the ICAO Regional Offices- covers an area extending from North America in the West to the Asia/Pacific Region in the East (see blue area in the map below). The EUR/NAT Office’s accreditation covers over 55 Member States, ranging from very high-density oceanic airspace to low-density continental airspace.
