Two back to back workshops on low visibility procedures and approach procedure with vertical guidance were organised by ICAO EUR/NAT Office on 9-10 and 11 June 2009 in Paris.
About 120 participants from 30 States, International organisations and aeronautical industry participated at the workshops representing whole array of expertise in LVP and APV, including national and international regulators, air navigation service providers, airports, airline operators, pilots, aircraft and avionics manufacturers.
The objective of the Workshops was to review the current status of LVP and APV implementation, identify problematic areas and determine further steps to foster unhindered development of these two important concepts of the emerging global interoperable and operationally seamless ATM system.
The workshops culminated in a number of recommendations that will be further evaluated by various ICAO working groups in order to identify future actions required.
