Tashkent (Uzbekistan) 13-15 July 2010 - The Fifty-First Meeting of the EANPG (Paris, 1 – 3 December 2009) reviewed the status of implementation of the QMS for the AIS/MAP services, as up-dated by the COG AIM Task Force and based on this review, the EANPG/51 agreed that the ICAO Regional Director with a view to assist States to implement this ICAO requirement, organize the Quality Management System (QMS) implementation workshop for the AIS/MAP services.

Thanks to the kind support and hospitality of Uzbekistan, the workshop was held in Tashkent from 13 to 15 July 2010 on the premises of The State Inspection of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Flight Safety Oversight (GOSAVIANADZOR).
25 participants from 9 States and 3 International organizations were presented with theoretical aspects accompanied by practical exercises of the following main items:
- Importance of QMS for the AIS/MAP products and services;
- Regional aspect of aeronautical information/data quality;
- ICAO and Eurocontrol initiatives for aeronautical information/data improvement;
- AIS data process;
- Agreements with the data originators;
- Static and dynamic data procedures;
- Quality management within flight procedure design and cartography production;
- Documentation and audits;
- Automation in AIS; and
- Regional best practice.
All participants have greatly appreciated the outcome of the workshop and highly commended on its timeliness, importance and outstanding organization.
